Thats because the old affiliate program just said, “Hey, if you ever see that advertiser’s website, just take a look at it.” They didnt tell you that they were using the old affiliate program because they didnt think you would take the look at it seriously since you used to be a member of the same affiliate network.
The new affiliate program is slightly different from the old affiliate program. This is because the new affiliate program is built on the Google AdSense platform, so they have to make sure their ad network is compliant. They also change the ways they search for affiliate targets.
